Fire Sprinkler System Design

Barnstead Developments are fully qualified in fire sprinkler system and design. Working with individuals, architects and design consultants we design a system that fits your project, whether it is a domestic or commercial development.

The design of the sprinkler system is more demanding than it first appears. During the design stage the number of sprinkler heads required will be assessed by our Design Specialists to comply with BS9251. Our Design Specialists work closely with the client to ensure that the sprinkler system design is sympathetic to both the property and the clients needs. All the pipework is concealed in the floors and walls, and the sprinklers are small, neat and blend in with the decor. They are available in a range of colours and finishes to suit the clients needs.

Once our designers plot the sprinkler positions they then calculate the pipe routes and sizing. Throughout the process we use the latest computer software to develop and fine tune the design and plans.

Barnstead Fire Sprinklers cover a large area including, Swansea, Cardiff, Newport, Carmarthen, Milford Haven, Llanelli, Pembroke, Haverfordwest, Aberystwyth, Builth Wells, Powys, Ceredigion, Chepstow, Cardigan, Brecon, Pembroke Dock ,Cowbridge , Abergavenny, Caerphilly,Hay on wye, Wrexham, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda, Bridgend, Barry,Welshpool, Shrewsbury, Welshpool, Wolfscastle, Fishguard  and many other areas. Our Design Specialists

Our Designer Specialists are fully qualified and independently certified to give you peace of mind that your system is designed to the optimum specification.

The process starts with receipt of suitable drawings of the building that requires the sprinkler system. Our Design Specialists will then design the system, in conjunction with your input on the sprinkler positions. They then ensure the design meets all criteria of BS9251. This includes full hydraulic compliance using our specialist software. This ensures that the sprinkler heads in the system will perform in accordance with British Standards. It also ensures that the design is the most cost-effective for the customer.

Our designs are then forwarded to the client for approval. Once approved, the design plans and documents (with working drawings) are complied for the installation team.

Completion and Commissioning of the Fire Sprinkler System

On completion of the system installation, the engineers will carry out the full commissioning including a flow test. The flow test results and design calculations will be cross-referenced to ensure compliance with the design and relevant standards.

The design engineers will then provide a set of “as fitted plans” which  form part of the manual or users guide for the particular property.
