Fire Sprinklers
Protecting Lives & Properties Across West Wales
Why choose us?
Fire sprinkler regulations in Wales differ from those in other parts of the UK. In Wales, it is mandatory to install automatic fire suppression systems in all new-build properties or renovations of existing dwellings. The Welsh Government first proposed this legislation in 2011, which was then written into law in 2013 following a consultation process involving fire officers and industry experts. A phased implementation was introduced, starting with high- risk buildings such as residential care homes in May 2014, before extending to all domestic and residential buildings requiring planning permission from January 2016 onwards. This legislation aims to reduce fire-related deaths and injuries while protecting both the public and firefighters. This legislation was then updated in 2021 to the BS9251:2021 regulations.
